The serpentine curves of our new Crescent Sideboard are a challenge for even the most experienced cabinetmakers. Inspired by the classic Heppelwhite bow front architecture, the front and back of the drawers are made of quarter-inch-thick laminated cherry or walnut. This allows the drawers to maintain a consistent shape. The drawers are then skillfully joined at a square to the sides with dovetails. Extra care is taken to match the grain patterns on each drawer, creating a striking display of natural beauty.

Properly hanging doors with square sides requires woodworking skill. These doors are angled differently on each side to match the curved front. To ensure that each curved drawer fits flush, the faces must be carefully sanded by hand.

Mortise and tenon joints connect the curved feet to the case providing optimal strength for bearing weight. The feet add delicate, yet functional detail to the presentation of the case.

The contrasting drawer pull is made from ebonized cherry. You may also specify natural cherry or walnut drawer pulls by selecting the “Customize This Piece” option.
