CNC Machinist, 1999

In 1999, I finished building a cedar porch glider for my aunt’s porch. She had just come back from a trip to the Thos. Moser showroom in Freeport and suggested that I apply for work here at the shop. I took her advice, and the rest is history.

I’ve enjoyed using wood as a medium for a long time, but it went to a new level when I came here. I started building chairs, then branched out into other areas. We are each other’s experts here. Whenever someone needs a hand, moving a 200 lb. tabletop, attaching an 80″ bench crest, or even talking about a new way of doing something, we jump to it.

“My favorite piece to work on is the Eastward Chair. It’s loaded with eye-grabbing curves and lines, and even though they look simple, they’re a real challenge to make.”
