40-Year Art Retrospective

History

Our Freeport Showroom and Gallery is hosting a retrospective art exhibit and open house featuring artists who have previously exhibited with Thos. Moser over the last 40 years, beginning in 1984 with our showroom on Cumberland Avenue in Portland, which moved in 1998 to Main Street in Freeport.

In celebration, we have invited over 50 contemporary Maine artists to exhibit work, including collage, drawing, painting, photography, prints, and sculpture, showcasing a variety of mediums and styles from traditional to abstract. The artwork is currently on display, and the show will run until January 31st, 2025.

40 years of fine art

For four decades, Tom and Mary Moser have been staunch supporters of the Maine arts community. In the early 1990s, they began inviting local artists to hang works on the walls of the former showroom on Cumberland Ave. in Portland, Maine. When the showroom moved to its current location in Freeport, Maine, the program continued a tradition of celebrating Maine artists alongside the handmade furniture. What endures is the commitment to celebrating Maine makers and the thriving artist community, drawing visitors to the showroom from near and far to enjoy fine art and fine furniture under one roof.
