Stacks of pieces of furniture.

What is something about you that may surprise others?

I have a fraternal twin brother.

Dave’s strength when crafting chairs is solving the complex problems that often require patience and innovative thinking. “Sometimes it’s an easy piece that gets a wrench thrown into it to make it challenging and other times it’s a brand new piece that no one has ever worked on before, so there is no one to go to for questions,” he says. After more than ten years of crafting chairs, he still loves the sense of accomplishment you feel when you finish a piece, especially a hard one.

Dave discovered woodworking after participating in an internship after he graduated with a degree in Adventure-Based Program Management where he was working on wooden kayaks. From there he moved on to furniture making in Vermont before coming back to Maine.

Outside of work, his greatest joy is spending time with his wife and daughter. He also enjoys carving driftwood and hiking outdoors.
