ALLSTON, MA | 2019
Officially opening in 2001, the Spangler Center has played a dramatic role in connecting the Harvard Business School (HBS) community and facilitating valuable student interaction. The 122,000-square-foot, red brick and limestone building, designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects, is the main student center at HBS. MBA administrative offices occupy the upper level, and well-appointed student lounges are on the main level. Dining facilities on the lower and main levels are open throughout the day. Spangler Center also features two named event rooms, the Meredith Room and the Williams Room, and a beautifully landscaped courtyard.
Familiar with Thos. Moser’s capabilities, the interior design team at Harvard Business School knew the quality and professionalism of the Thos. Moser team. Both the lounge and dining room needed to provide a collaborative atmosphere for personal interaction among students. From the first meeting to the finished product, the designers at Harvard Business School were impressed with the level of detail, quality, and communication shown by Thos. Moser.
“As a client, we have both a strong commitment to our design principles and an understanding of our community. The beauty and quality of the furniture are as paramount as performance and durability. When there are 500 people coming into a space and sitting in these chairs at least three — if not more — times per day, they must be comfortable and built to last.”
-Angela Crispi, HBS Executive Dean for Administration
