Our Story
Thos. Moser was founded in 1972 by Thomas and Mary Moser with a simple ambition: to restore the lost art of traditional woodworking through uncompromising craftsmanship. What began as a small workshop in Maine has grown into a community of dedicated makers, each committed to building furniture that reflects precision, purpose, and pride.
Every piece is made by hand, one at a time, using sustainably harvested North American hardwood. Our makers apply time-honored joinery techniques not for nostalgia, but because they produce the strongest, most enduring results.
The result is furniture designed to serve for generations, honest in material, refined in form, and grounded in utility.
Stewardship
Thos. Moser is deeply committed to sustainability, sourcing carefully harvested North American hardwoods, primarily 100-120 year old black cherry from long-trusted mill partners who share their values. These renewable forests grow faster than they’re harvested, ensuring long-term stewardship. Every step, from mindful material selection to durable craftsmanship and reusable, waste-reducing packaging, reflects their dedication to respecting the land and creating furniture that lasts a lifetime.
