Rick Foss

Director of Operations Since 1984

If you could do any job for one day, what would it be?

Sales. It’s a tough job and it’s an unseen job that I would like to understand better.

When Rick Foss began working at Thos. Moser 33 years ago, he never imagined it would be a permanent role. More than three decades later, a job he once took on a whim has turned into an admirable career. The people he has had the opportunity to work with are his primary reason for staying. He is energized by everyone around the company and the positivity that they bring to work every day, “without that, it’s just a job,” he says.

Rick’s work at Thos. Moser began with rasping arms for the Continuous Arm Chair and evolved over the years to include roles in manufacturing, production, and design and development where he worked with Tom Moser on new designs such as the Lolling Collection, one of his all-time favorites. Today, he oversees a team of 75 caring, honest, and hardworking craftsmen. It is his commitment to people and perhaps even his stubborn demeanor that allow him to effectively reach goals and maintain his team’s efficiency.

Outside of work Rick’s passion for strong relationships are ever present. Family dinners with his children and four grandchildren are fundamental and take place every Monday evening where the house is always full. He has many hobbies which include supporting children through his involvement with the Masons and the Shriners as well as a handful of outdoor activities including hunting, golfing, and riding his motorcycle.
