Amongst the pieces on display are...

This tribute (shown above) pays homage to Roger Maris’ breaking the great Babe Ruth’s single season Home Run record with 61 in 1961. The lower half completes this historical montage, as it contains the signatures of the remaining 44 pitchers who fell victim to the Home Run power of Roger Maris in 1961.

The 1951 season ended with the Brooklyn Dodgers and the NY Giants tied for first place. As a result, a three game playoff was played to determine who would join the New York Yankees in the World Series. After the Dodgers and Giants split the first two games, Bobby Thomson in the bottom of the ninth of the decisive third game connected on Ralph Branca's second pitch for a Home Run which sent the New York Giants to the 1951 World Series. This display (shown above) commemorates the SHOT HEARD ROUND THE WORLD with an actual ticket stub from that historical game.
