[ An aesthetic vocabulary which recognizes the Danish modernist movement and economy of both form and material. ]

creative revisitation

Meridian draws inspiration from diverse sources, principally Danish and Shaker influences while adding David Moserís distinctive creative touch. The Danes believed that it is the designerís moral duty to be concerned with improving peopleís daily lives. A similar doctrine was expressed by Shakers: "Donít make something unless it is both necessary and useful; but if it is both necessary and useful, donít hesitate to make it beautiful." Meridian embodies both of these principles. This "creative revisitation" is a hallmark of both Tom and David Moserís approach to design, and has become a core part of the companyís cultural ethos. Design is the sum of all that has gone before, and the name Meridian suggests the currency of cumulative design ideas among Shaker, Danish, and now Moser.

In addition to reinforcing our commitment to unadorned, graceful design, Meridian is conceived to offer utility and beauty for generations of users. While also available in cherry, this is our first collection to be introduced principally in ash, which allows the grain and texture of the wood to come to the fore and adds a clean, modernist feel.
