Webster University - St. Louis, MO
In collaboration with the architectural firm of Spellman Brady & Company, this installation features a new chair design and custom tables all built in maple. The project was installed in August of 2003 and includes 402 study chairs, 74 tables (some with solid wood tops and some with laminate tops), 8 OPAC stations and 68 custom carrel seats.
University of Georgia - Athens, GA
Installed during the spring and summer of 2003, The Student Learning Center is the largest and most expensive construction project in the history of the University of Georgia, and was the largest project in the history of Thos. Moser Cabinetmakers. The project required 55,000 board feet of American black cherry and included 1,500 chairs, 136 large tables, 178 study carrels and required over 16,037 work hours.
University of Georgia School of Law - Athens, GA
Also completed during the summer of 2003 was the renovation of the main library at UGA School of Law. Included in this installation were 47 custom Readers Tables, 4 custom index tables, 24 carrel seats, 287 Courtroom Chairs, reference desk, circulation desk and end panels.
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
Chapel Hill, NC
Originally dedicated in 1968, The R.B. House Library re-opened in spring 2002. Thos. Moser worked with the architects at Perkins and Wills in Raleigh, North Carolina and the university facilities managers to design customized seating and work stations, including 47 study tables, 77 Franklin-style carrels of various configurations ranging from 1 place to 6 place, 349 Regent Arm Chairs, end panels and, atlas and dictionary stands. The electrical requirements for this job were particularly challenging due to the age of the building but Moser worked hand in hand with the general contractor, Clancy & Theys, to overcome all obstacles and to provide furniture not only aesthetically pleasing but highly functional as well.
Boston Latin School - Boston, MA
We are proud to have been a part of this most distinguished project: the brand new library at this country’s oldest public school located in Boston, Massachusetts. Installed in August of 2001 and dedicated on October 27, 2001 to the alumni benefactor, the late Harry V. Keefe Jr., for whom the library is now named, the project provided Moser the opportunity to work closely with both the architects at HMFH Architects, Cambridge, and the development office at Boston Latin School Association. The project encompassed 194 chairs, over 30 study tables of various styles and lengths, lounge seating, end panels, printer stands, atlas stand and bookcases. New products developed specifically for this project were the Windward end panels and bookcases, and OPAC stations integrated at many book stack ends. The durable yet elegant Colorlith work surfaces are also a highlight, as well as the power and data options on the study tables. The lamps were provided by TSAO.
