A keynote address by Charles E. Hewett, Ph.D., The Jackson Laboratory's Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, will be followed by a cocktail reception and meet & greet.

In honor of our long relationship and commitment to The Jackson Laboratory, Thos. Moser will donate 15% of all art sales through December 31, 2008 in support of their efforts to improve our world.

About The Jackson Laboratory
The Jackson Laboratory was founded in 1929 as a cancer research facility, and has been designated as a Cancer Center by the National Cancer Institute since 1983 to conduct basic research. The continuing mission of The Jackson Laboratory is to discover the genetic basis for preventing, treating and curing human disease, and to enable research and education for the global biomedical community. Based in Bar Harbor, Maine, The Jackson Laboratory has a large presence in Maine and is the state's sixth largest non-profit organization. About the keynote speaker
Chuck Hewett, a Maine policy leader and executive with a background in state government, energy systems management and international pharmaceutical development, directs The Jackson Laboratory’s JAX® Mice & Services as well as institution-wide operations. Dr. Hewett came to The Jackson Laboratory in March 2004 after six years as vice president, secretary and clerk of Cianbro Companies of Pittsfield, a $300 million infrastructure construction company. Dr. Hewett’s experience includes serving as chief operating officer for the State of Maine executive branch during the first three years of Governor Angus King's administration, and he was founding CEO and managing director of Hafslund Nycomed’s Irish subsidiary, manufacturer of x-ray and magnetic resonance imaging contrast media to improve soft-tissue imaging. He holds a B.A. from Williams College and M.F.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Yale University.

Keynote address starts at 5pm, followed by cocktail reception and meet & greet.
