Working with live botanical specimens Jeanne Lotta-Sellars attempts to render the workings of the heart and spirit through botanical images that at times are anthropomorphic representations.
A long-time resident of San Francisco, she began drawing and painting after a career in fashion and costuming. She works in graphite, watercolor and gouache for these images.
Jeanne Lotta-Sellars has shown her work in group and juried shows as well as a one-person show at Helen Crocker Russell Library of Horticulture, San Francisco Botanical Garden at Strybing Arboretum. Her work is in private collections and can be seen at Viewpoints Gallery in Point Reyes Station and Trouve in Fairfax.

The cycles of life are the foundation for evolution. The cyclical patterns between the urban and natural environment are in sync with human nature. The experience of these cycles are what make us individuals, shape how we view the world and cause us to evolve. Photography makes it possible to share visions with others who may not have the same perspective. There is a moment that will never be acknowledged or shared, except within that one photograph.
Aidan Sellars graduated from the San Francisco Art Institute with two BFA's, one for photography and one for painting. He currently makes custom furniture for Thomas Sellars Furniture and resides in the Bay Area. He has been in group shows displaying either photography or painting. His photographs have been featured in an evening news story broadcast, on ABC and NBC.
