February 22nd, 2007
For 35 years Thos. Moser furniture has been hailed world-wide for its elegance of style and simplicity of line.
, Tom Moser’s fourth and youngest son, has worked closely with his father for many years to develop and design furniture that combines historical influences—classic Japanese joinery, the sentimentality of the Arts and Crafts Movement, the untutored aesthetics of the Shaker period of the 1830s and ‘40s, and the urbane German Bauhaus movement of the 1920s—to create what he calls “functional art.”
Now a renowned furniture designer in his own right, David will use a slide-filled presentation to relate how the design process he uses differs from standard convention and how it continues to evolve. David will also be available before and after his presentation for questions and one-on-one discussion.
