Auburn, Maine (September 2006 ) – As part of our “alternative gallery space” program, which highlights national and local artists in each of our showrooms, we are pleased to announce that our New York showroom will feature the work of Brooklyn artist Jeff Bye. The exhibit, which features figurative and landscape paintings, will be on display at the showroom September 18 through December, 2006.

“Jeff Bye’s works are very expressive and bold; they compliment our pieces and are an exciting addition to our Manhattan showroom,” says Kristi Kamps, vice president of marketing at Thos. Moser. “Our six showrooms across the U.S. use art to provide an additional and unique visual element, as well as to create a place for art lovers to view and enjoy compelling works. Our furniture, which is beautiful, handmade art in its own right, creates a wonderful synergy with the pieces that we feature.”

Jeff Bye’s portfolio includes an extensive collection of figurative paintings depicting subjects in specific settings which reveal the sitter’s character, and bold landscapes record scenes in urban settings that have inspired the artist. “The development of a work of art is what interests me most as an artist,” states Bye. “What this entails is not just painting one interpretation of my subject, but expressing reactions towards it at different periods of time. The painting becomes a record of a journey, revealing layer upon layer of my exploration through spontaneous brushwork.”

Our New York showroom is located at 699 Madison Avenue between 62nd and 63rd streets, located on the second floor. For additional information contact the showroom at 212-753-7005.
