The Pasadena Dining Table encompasses the best of high-craft and new-tech skills: simple to look at and touch, yet extremely complex to build, requiring hours of hand carving to complete.

The broad grain-matched cherry tabletop rests lightly on four carved legs, as spare a silhouette as can be—light and curvaceous yet sturdy. Upon closer inspection, the laborious handwork can be observed in the contrasting cap joints that are circular (not square) and lie flush to the surface. A sculptural “poured” edge draws the eye and the hand down the sides of the table, then down the legs in a kind of ebb and flow reminiscent of the movement of the sea—the tide harnessed in wood.
