As a follow up to our Holiday 2015 launch of Stacks, we are pleased to introduce Hoops for Holiday 2016.
This form references that of traditional shaker boxes, much like Stacks does, and also represents a contemporary take on a round wall mirror. The form of the frame is achieved through stack laminating solid wood veneer. Once the overall form is achieved when glued in a frame, each component is machined on the CNC individually, then joined via an exposed skarf joint of the side (again referencing the shaker boxes). Once assembled, the form is machined again to have a rabbet joint in the back to accept the mirror.
Like many of our recent designs, these pieces embrace our available technology but still rely on skilled handwork to achieve the final quality we are known for. A true balance of low and high tech craftsmanship.
Hoops comes in three sizes, and each is sold separately. Each mirror includes mounting hardware and instructions for mounting to wall board only as well as for mounting through the wall board into a stud.
Hoops is offered in walnut (shown), white oak, and cherry.
